Day-1 , week-1
The first day of my 8-week transformer was in a word, tough! I am a former soldier, but hadn’t trained so intensely for years so it was a shock to the system. But It felt great to be back and that first session really cemented my reasons for making this important step towards a new, fit and healthy me. Initially It was a full hour of generalised weight training, and some specific cardio to assess my body type and fitness and see where I was at physically. It was fun!
End of week-1
This foundation week was a bit of a challenge at first, mainly because it was a learning curve and I had to familiarize myself with my new routine and the new exercises prescribed. This soon sped up after a couple of sessions. The nutrition side things were a bit of a shock to the body too (only because it was brand new to me at the time). My body was under stress, my headspace was changing but focused and towards the end of the week, I was starting to get on top of it, and all the help, guidance, and support from my trainer Dave played a big role and really got me over that initial hump; I feel this was instrumental to my adherence.
Week-2
This is the week that changed it for me; I started to see results already. I took a photo of day 10 and put it side by side with day one and I was astounded by the difference in such a short space of time! It was at that moment that I knew we could achieve something special and my goals could surpass my original expectations. I was given lots of motivation and encouragement once again going into the next week, which spurred me on even more.
Week-3
The high volume of Abs workouts and the way my weight training was structured had my abs showing through quite prominently by the end of the week. This is also down to my diet; having the basic nutrition principles down allowed me to experiment with flavors and recipes. I use thermogenic spices in everything so my food is packed full of flavor and benefits my fat loss. I felt good knowing I was eating right and had the ability to enjoy it too.
Week-4
Coming towards the end of the first half of the program and I’m really flying by this point! I’m comfortable with correctly performing the exercises, I’m confident walking around the gym, and am slashing my workout times down dramatically because I’m working out more efficiently, which is a massive thing for me as I’m a busy Father with 2-careers, 2-children so effective time management is key for me.
Week-5
The program got mixed up and ramped up this week! Whole new exercises to play with (and at this point, it was becoming play, I was loving it!) new structures, and dietary refinement. The end was in sight, and I was seeing some great muscularity across my chest, shoulders, and biceps in particular, but still, a long way to go! My Abs and core just kept on steadily coming through and developing, and that’s a lovely thing to experience my efforts paying off.
Week-6
Dave took the initiative and identified the areas that needed particular attention, and gave me instructions on how to develop those areas, back, lats, and legs being the muscle to focus on, so that’s what I did! I put lat exercises at the start of my workouts so had the grip strength to push those muscles and followed the same pattern for the other muscle groups.
I did have tiny a dietary lapse at the end of this week on valentines day and I had a dessert… Interestingly my body had become so sensitive to what I put in it that I noticed the effect the next morning, with bloating and water retention and didn’t like it. I got a little down on myself, but was picked right back up again by Dave, who also mixed up the program for the last two weeks, and away we went.
Week-7
The final two weeks! After my slip into the sugary pool of dessert the previous week, I was more determined than ever to achieve the best results I possibly could, so I ate super clean, introduced fasted HIIT 4 times per week, and didn’t drop a single workout, not that I had dropped many leading up to this point well, maybe the odd cardio and evening abs routine, but that was it. By the end of this week, I knew I would finish the program with results myself, and Dave could be proud of it, was just a case of doing as instructed and completing my workouts with full focus, effort, and intensity.
Week-8
The final week of the rest of my life! We made small adjustments to diet and exercise structure in this final week and we went hell for leather to push my body as far as I could, safely, to achieve what we knew we could. Small tweaks were making big differences at this point. I was getting super lean, muscular, and fit and my vascularity was insane.
Walking through those doors at Star Being with a big smile on my face, knowing I’d pushed myself as hard as I could was exactly what I’d visualised all the way through the program, and that day had come! I couldn’t quite believe such drastic physical and mental changes would be possible in such a short space of time.
I felt strong, sharp, energetic and at ease with myself. This program has given me an assured confidence that I couldn’t get anywhere else, from anywhere else; Dave and everyone at Star Being have been super supportive and encouraging all the way through this process, that I don’t think I could have failed even if I tried!
