 Even if you are considering it for a nano-second – you should just do it!

They’re always there for you and there’s never a silly question you can’t ask

It has been an amazing, amazing thing to do, and I have literally transformed my life – in fitness levels, in my outlook on life, my energy levels; yes it has literally transformed everything. In the ‘nicest way to say’ – they make you work hard, and you sweat a lot, but they do it in the nicest possible way. I’ve never felt uncomfortable for someone who has never lifted weights in their life; I’ve always felt challenged, but never out of my comfort zone. 

It is the the best service you can possibly have.

It’s personal, and they are there for you for whatever – there’s never anything too silly to ask, and I think for someone who maybe hasn’t been to the gym as much or doesn’t know much about fitness and who hasn’t lifted weights, I maybe would have felt intimidated, but this whole process has just been so wonderful, and I really look forward to coming and doing my sessions and training and I couldn’t recommend it enough. If you’re thinking about doing it, just do it.

 What did you achieve?

So obviously losing weight, feeling healthier, stronger and overall better in-myself – it affects and changes a lot of aspects in your day-to-day life, like your energy levels and how you get up in the morning, it makes you want to go to the gym and actually ‘want’ to work out (for the first time ever) – yes, overall you just feel so much better in yourself and it has a positive impact in every way.

The weight loss, looking better and feeling stronger is a good feeling too – of course, it is a big achievement from looking back to where I started-out, but primarily I value all the other wins that comes with it. Such as even just persevering through the process and proving to my self I can do it; being able to do 12-weeks of going from doing no exercise at all to then building my fitness up enough to do 6, even sometimes 7-days of exercise per week (my choice of course) and eating healthy, it is just a big personal victory for me.

How much weight have you lost?

So by week-12, it was over 3-stone altogether (approx 23kg). Around week-6 my weight loss really seemed to take off – I was noticing the weight coming off more quickly and new shape and some toning of muscle beginning to appear (so I knew it was working), plus you get nice motivational comments from people around you who noticed the difference too.

I was following the advice given closely and keeping my food in check, and Star Being were great – almost weekly they would give me plenty of food ideas to keep things simple and healthy which always made it enjoyable and a breeze to follow – surprisingly it wasn’t difficult changing my food habits at all. About week-8, it was very obvious I had lost a couple of stone so I continued to push myself and work harder with my new found fitness to step things up.

What other area of your life has this journey improved – you’ve been climbing mountains?

Yes, new adventures like going on holiday and doing a massive hike up Mt. Snowdon and having the confidence to do it; where as before, I would have just completely ruled it out as something I wouldn’t ever do period. But the new me is all about giving it a go, just like personal training, knowing I could now likely do It successfully, and probably enjoy it too!

It has made a massive difference in my physical confidence and show you how much you’re willing to challenge yourself (but of course never in an extreme way), more so just that you’re willing to try a little harder than previously and also remain open to new types of physical exercise as your fitness and strength improves along the way – even to the point where I also tried some ab-sailing and caving (which I again I would never have considered before this). Which has also an impact on how I spend my free time – I just want to do be more active, fitter and keep on pushing myself.

What other area of your life has this journey improved, you’ve been climbing mountains?

Just great! – Firm but friendly. Very professional and honest with you about the progress you are making and what changes you could be doing to step things up – but that’s what you want and expect from a motivator; I guess you’re handing over the reigns and getting objective but hugely constructive feedback in that respect. They wish you the best and work closely with you to ensure that you achieve your best. It’s just one of the best things I have ever done in my life and it’s completely changed my life.

What’s next? More fitness adventures. More weight – training. I’m going to join a gym now that I have finished my sessions and put all my new experience to good work. I like walking now and I can also include this into my weekly routine quite easily. I have a lot of energy and vitality and want to channel that into another challenge and keep moving the goal post on what I can achieve really – as they have inspired and coached me on what I can achieve next – and I know I can do it too. I would also like to continue shaping up and losing weight slowly, but mostly it would be to keep on the ‘health-train’ and maintaining a super healthy lifestyle for myself and my family. I can now say I’m somebody who likes fitness!
